Purpose
Why publish a personal website showcasing just an ordinary person like Peter Jalajas? If Peter is
not a prolific blogger or a celebrity of note, this really does appear as a vain concept! In actuality,
this site is a product of [Dissolved Company], with the intent of presenting an accurate account of
its CEO. This website will primarily focus on his career as a Naval Aviator, but will also portray a
few related contributions from his personal life. So why is it necessary to put this information out
to the public? Peter has his own account:
“In December of 1992 the USS Ranger sailed to the coast of Somalia in support of Operation
Restore Hope. I flew the very first mission of the airwing down the coastline to perform electronic
surveillance on any threatening radar signatures, while at the same time our sister squadron had
an F-14 equipped with a TARPS pod take aerial photography of critical regions. When we returned
to the ship, the first duty after getting debriefed on our carrier landing was to hit the dirty shirt
mess where we could grab a bite to eat. The small television in the top corner of this cafeteria
always played CNN news. And I’ll never forget how they were already reporting our surprising
overflight of Somalia within an hour of the actual event!” So what does this personal account have
to do with anything 26 years later? Well, almost every detail that was reported by the CNN news
crew was wrong! Now, it’s not for Pete Jalajas to know if DOD had purposely misled the public on
the story or whether the news reporters just made their best educated guess knowing about
basic U.S. military assets in the area. That detail doesn’t matter. But what is for certain is that any
combination of reasons - propoganda, intelligence operations, bad sources and information,
biased journalism, agenda-driven journalism, etc. - can form to mislead the public in the various
news programs and websites. Today’s popular term for this is Fake News.
Dedication
Much has changed since 1992. Peter, having retired after twenty years service to the Navy,
already experienced operations in the war theatre of Desert Storm. But many decades of civilian
life in the states allowed him to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many of his young friends
and squadronmates as well as those soldiers on the hot soils of the Middle Eastern deserts. This
website is dedicated to them, while memories of LT Neal “Eddy” Jones, LTJG David S. Jennings,
CDR John “Bug” Roach and LT William (Tom) Costen - just few of the many pilots lost during
Peter’s active duty - still resonate in the spirit that steers him. These four touched the life of Pete
Jalajas as they worked together, and they would never get the recognition and honor they fully
deserved. Just the fact that entertainment and sports news takes over center stage in our daily
lives should make one ponder how sick our nation is when men and women are still dying in
Afghanistan 17 years later.
Our country has invested so dearly in this particular foreign combat theatre, and still does. Many
years later a careful introspection of our own nation reveals that we are experiencing culture
wars, wars on ideas, wars on our sovereignty and wars on credible science - all on our own soil!
Peter noticed that part of what contributes to this disarray is the war on information, or
misrepresentation of events. Truthful facts and opposing viewpoints are continuously omitted,
suppressed and obscured from the public in ways that detract us from having a good
understanding of current events. And also little known to most, in many cases the gate-keepers
of our media’s information are hyper-biased NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations or non-
profits that work independently from the government), some backed up by hundreds of millions
of dollars.
Mission
Our company’s mission is peaceful and reasonable. It is respectable and necessary. Our services
and media products embrace our First Amendment’s dedication to free speech, and attempt to
fill in that missing puzzle piece of information that will allow our people to better grasp “the big
picture.”
